This roundtable discussion shows how the 2024 Maitland P. Simmons Awards Committee Scholars have transformed their lessons to incorporate the OpenSciEd Curricula.

NJSTA's OpenSciEd PLC

This free, statewide PLC is intended to be a resource for teachers for all New Jersey teachers and administrators using OpenSciEd curriculum or wanting to know more!  

• This PLC has no structured agenda. Topics may include sensemaking, anchoring phenomena routines, Driving Question Boards and other OSE pedagogy, according to the interest of the attendees.

• If we have enough attendees working on the same unit, you will be welcome to join a breakout room where you can talk about unit-specific questions & answers.  

• Since this state-wide PLC is the first of its kind, we plan to be flexible and see what future times and formats work best for attendees. If you would like to suggest a different PLC time, answer this one-question survey.

• NJSTA will provide Professional Development hours for attendance.

• The OpenSciEd PLC is hosted by OpenSciEd High School and Middle School Facilitator Dr. Mariel Kolker.

• NJSTA is a OpenSciEd Certified Provider.
