For the eighteenth year, the New Jersey Science Teacher’s Association (NJSTA) and the New Jersey Science Education Leadership Association (NJSELA) are proud to offer scholarship opportunities for your preservice teachers. Our organizations are committed to contributing to the learning and teaching of science at all educational levels.  Each year both organizations sponsor a Science Convention (NJSC) that is held in October.  Traditionally over 250 workshops and presentations are offered to New Jersey teachers and educators. This year’s Convention will be on the 22nd and 23rd of October, 2019 and will take place at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal, 100 College Road East, Princeton, New Jersey.

A science background is not required to be eligible for a scholarship award; rather, the applicant should express an interest in teaching science to their prospective students by completing the application.

Scholarships are offered for preservice early education, elementary education and/or secondary education students to attend Convention.  Each scholarship includes registration for one day at the NJSC. Winners will be recognized during the NJSELA and NJSTA Fall meetings that will be held during the Convention. Please encourage your students to submit their applications for this unique opportunity so that it is received by noon on Monday, October 14, 2019

Completed applications can be emailed to coletta@waksman.rutgers.edu (preferred) or faxed. An electronic application is attached. Please see application for more information.
