We know that science does not happen just in the classroom. Sometimes we are able to bring our students on field trips. Have you ever wanted a field trip for you to explore the science for yourself? We will be exploring place-based learning by visiting different locations here in New Jersey. Let’s share our love of science experiences and connect with other science teachers to have some fun enjoying the amazing science in New Jersey.
On December 12, from 7 - 9 pm, we will meet at Peyton Hall, Princeton University for the informal open house of the department of Astrophysical Sciences to observe the night sky at the observatory. Planets, nebulae, open clusters, globular clusters, and galaxies are often visible through a 12” Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This program is weather permitting. Please check the NJSTA Discord on the day of the event to confirm that we are meeting. The observatory may not have much heating, so prepare for the weather.
Please note that this is an opportunity to meet and have fun exploring science and not a formal professional development presentation, we will not be presenting PD certificates for this event.
Let us know if you plan to attend so we can connect!
