Storytelling Through Online Mapping

Join us for an introduction to ArcGIS Online, and how to utilize tools like StoryMaps to enhance your teaching. Part 1 of the webinar will introduce you to ArcGIS Online (AGO) as a whole, walking you through its basic use and user interface. Part 2 will highlight StoryMaps, AGO's interactive presentation software that allows you to tell your story while allowing your students to follow along with hands-on exercises and visuals. This hour-long webinar aims to provide you with the skills necessary to utilize StoryMaps and AGO in the classroom.

NJ Storytelling Using Online Mapping - A student competition
New Jersey is participating in a national online mapping competition for High School (9-12) and Middle School (4-8) students. Students work alone or in pairs using their school’s ArcGIS Online organizational account (free to schools: ://www.bitlylinks.com/kihUwfY6Uhttps) to create a Story Map based on an investigation of their choosing. New Jersey may award up to ten $100 prizes to teams or individuals.
To assist teachers, a webinar will be offered on February 7, 2023 from 4-5 pm. Teachers who participate in the webinar and mentor students who enter the competition will be eligible for a stipend. Details and to register, please visit the NJ contest website at https://www.bitlylinks.com/9gauXp9ZO .
